Workshops for Schools

Workshops for schools are tailored to individual requirements. They take place during term time at the school and can be booked for either half day for full day.

The following topics, which fall in line with the National Curriculum, can be incorporated in workshops:

  • Harmony
  • Aural
  • Rhythm
  • Improvisation
  • Composition
  • Genres & Styles
  • Listening and appraising
  • Creating and developing musical ideas
  • Performance skills
  • History of Jazz
  • Group performance

Other options include student and/or tutor concert in the evening.

Teacher Training

Teacher training is offered within the school or in external seminars. In addition, week 1 of the Summer Jazz course offers teachers the opportunity to participate as instrumentalists and vocalists, learning first hand the practical application of Jazz education (see Courses).
